Mexborough and 20 miles around

See what's actually wrong up there. Then decide.

I come and look before I price anything, because what it costs depends on the height, the access and how far it has been left. You get the price, the reason, and photos when it's done.

The name is the job list

Driveways, gutters, conservatories. And everything above them.

DGC stands for the three things I get asked for most. The roof work grew out of them, because once you're up there clearing a gutter you can see what else has gone.

A block paved driveway after cleaning, deep red herringbone brick, wet from the wash.D

Driveways and patios

Cleaned back to the colour they were, then painted and resealed if that's what they need.

A gutter packed solid with soil and moss, seen from roof level.G

Gutters

Cleared, repaired, realigned, or replaced where the run has given up. High reach vacuum, worked from the ground.

A conservatory with a glass roof and ornamental cresting, seen from the garden.C

Conservatories

Roof panels cleaned, and leaks tracked down and fixed.

A bungalow roof after moss removal, clean concrete tiles.

Roof cleaning

Moss scraped and brushed off, gutters cleared of what comes down with it.

A chimney stack with fresh lead flashing and repointed brickwork.

Roof and chimney repairs

Slipped slates, cracked tiles, lead flashing, repointing.

A newly fitted white fascia, soffit and gutter run on a painted brick bungalow.

Fascias and soffits

Repaired where they've gone soft, replaced where they've gone.

A black gutter run with a section come apart at the joint, under mossy roof tiles.

Gutter repairs

Joints, brackets, downpipes and the bit at the back nobody can reach.

Real jobs, both halves

The same house, twice.

Every customer gets photos when the job is finished. These four are the ones worth showing twice.

The same bungalow roof after cleaning, bare concrete tiles, same scaffold in place.

Roof moss, bungalow

Years of moss holding water against the tiles. Scraped, brushed and the gutters cleared of what came down with it.

The same driveway after cleaning and resealing, deep black and still wet.
After

Imprinted concrete drive

The pattern was still there, the colour had gone. Cleaned, growth taken out of the joints, then resealed.

After

Block paved drive

Ten years of green in the joints. Washed back to the brick it was laid as.

Start to finish

Four steps, no surprises.

    Tell me what you've got

Ring me, or send a photo on WhatsApp. A photo from the ground is usually enough.

  2. 02

    I come and look

I price it after I've seen it, not before. If it needs less than you thought, I'll say so.

  3. 03

You get the price and a date

Most jobs go in within a week or so of quoting, weather allowing.

  4. 04

    Job done, photos sent

You see what it looked like and what it looks like now, whether you were in or not.

No price list, and here's why

Four things decide what your job costs.

Two houses on the same street can be different money. It isn't the service that sets the price, it's what's involved in getting to it. These are the four things I'm working out when I look.

How high, and how many storeys

A bungalow gutter and a third floor gutter are the same job and a different day. Height decides the kit, and the kit decides the time.

A high reach vacuum pole extended up the side of a three storey building.

What the job actually is

Clearing a gutter is one thing. A joint that's failed, a bracket that's rotted, a downpipe that's blocked underground, those are another. I'll tell you which one you've got.

A failed plastic gutter joint with a rotted bracket behind it.

Whether I can get round the back

A clear side path is straightforward. A conservatory in the way, a locked shared passage, a garden that drops away, all of it adds time.

A conservatory built against the house wall, the kind that sits under the main gutter and has to be worked around.

How far it's been left

Cleared every couple of years, it's quick. Twenty years of soil with things growing in it is a different job, and sometimes the gutter underneath has already gone.

A gutter silted completely solid with soil and plant growth.

Answer those four and I can usually give you a price the same day.

The high reach kit

No ladders leaning on your house.

Most gutter clearing here is done with a high reach vacuum from the ground. It reaches three storeys, it doesn't rest anything against your fascias, and nobody has to walk a roof that might not take it.

Nothing leant against your gutters or fascias

Nobody walking a fragile roof

Some jobs still need a ladder or a scaffold, roof repairs especially. I'll tell you which yours is when I look.

179 of them, and they all say the same thing

People don't praise the cleaning. They praise being told the truth.

Who turns up

It's me. It's always me.

I'm Anthony. I've been in this industry around ten years, working for myself and before that for another company. Revive DGC is a small local business and I'd rather it stayed that way.

The person who quotes your job is the person who does it, and the person who answers the phone afterwards.

Most blocked gutters don't need replacing. I'll tell you if yours does, and I'll show you the photo either way.

Where I work

Mexborough, and 20 miles around it.

If you're inside that circle I'll come and look. If you're just outside it, ring me anyway and I'll tell you straight whether it's worth it for both of us.

Asked and answered

The questions I get most.

Why isn't there a price list?

Because the same service costs different money at different houses. A bungalow gutter with clear access and a three storey gutter behind a conservatory are not the same job. I'd rather look and tell you the real number than publish a low one and change it on the day.

Is the quote free?

Yes, and there's no call out fee for coming to look.

Could it come in cheaper than quoted?

It has. If I get up there and it's less work than it looked from the ground, you pay less.
