Gutter cleaning in Hoyland

One name, one phone number, from the first photo you send to long after the job. That is how gutter cleaning in Hoyland works with me. I quote it, I do it, and if a gutter still is not right afterwards, you ring me.

Who do you ring if it is not right afterwards?

Me. Revive DGC is one person, based in Mexborough, who has been in the trade for about ten years. There is no sales visit followed by a crew you have never met, and no office line to work your way through once the job is done.

That matters more with gutters than people expect. You usually only find out whether a clean worked the next time it pours, which might be days after the job. When that happens, the number you call is the one you booked on, and the man who answers is the one who stood under your gutters with the vacuum.

It also means nothing gets lost between people. What you told me when you first got in touch, what I saw when I came to look and what I said I would do are all in one head. You do not have to explain your house twice.

Customers bring up communication in my MyBuilder reviews more than anything else: being told what is going on, kept posted and sent the photos. That is easier to get right when there is only one person to do the telling.

Still dripping after a storm?

Message the number you booked on and tell me which corner it is coming from. A photo from the garden helps. I would much rather hear about it than have you put up with it.

What does gutter cleaning in Hoyland involve on the day?

Nobody has to stay home for it. The vacuum unit stands on the drive or the path, the pole reaches up to the gutter from the ground, and no ladder leans on the walls or the windows. The downpipes get cleared on the same visit, since emptying a gutter into a choked pipe only moves the problem a few feet. The whole method is laid out on my gutter clearing page.

Before and after photographs come to you either way, so if you were at work you can still see what came out and what the gutter looks like now. If the clean shows up a fault, such as a joint letting go, I tell you and you decide. Where it can be mended rather than renewed, that is what gets quoted, as the gutter repairs page explains. A fascia board that has gone soft is a job for fascias and soffits.

The photos are yours to keep. If a gutter starts playing up months later, you can show me how it looked the day I left it, and working out what has changed is quick.

Moss coming off the roof keeps landing in the gutter. If yours has a lot of it, roof cleaning can be priced on the same look. I have also written about what moss does to a roof if you want to know whether it needs doing.

What one person doing the whole job gets you

  • The price comes from someone who has seen the house. No figure over the phone. I come out, look at the height and the access, and price what is actually there.
  • Less work means a smaller bill. If there turns out to be less to do than I allowed for, the bill comes down to match.
  • Nothing extra gets done without your say-so. Anything else spotted while I am up there goes in the photos, and it is your choice what happens next.
  • You can book it for somebody else. Several of my jobs have been arranged by a son or daughter for a parent, with the photos going to whoever made the booking.

Which parts of Hoyland do you cover?

All of it. Hoyland is a town in the Barnsley borough, S74 on the postcode with Barnsley as the post town, and it is under ten miles from Mexborough, where I am based. Hoyland Common, Platts Common, Upper Hoyland and Elsecar were all part of the old Hoyland Nether district, and I treat every one of them as Hoyland.

Whether the house is up near Lowe Stand, the eighteenth century folly on the highest ground in the area, or down in Elsecar, the job is priced the same way. There is no travel charge added for the trip over. I work weekdays only, between eight in the morning and six at night.

If you cannot remember when your gutters were last emptied, how often to have gutters cleaned sets out the usual gap.

Hoyland questions

What if you come out and the gutters do not need anything?

Then I tell you so and you owe me nothing. Coming to look is free, and a gutter that is working fine does not need my help.

I only want the front gutter doing. Is that all right?

Yes. You are quoted for the work you ask for. If the back looks like it needs attention I will mention it and show you why, and it stays your decision.

Do you clear the gutters on a conservatory or a garage too?

Yes. Conservatory gutters are part of what I do, and a garage gutter can go on the same quote, so it is worth mentioning them when you first get in touch.

Can the quote and the clean happen on the same day?

Sometimes, if the job is small and the diary allows. If not, you get a day, and jobs are often done within a week of you saying yes, weather allowing.

Getting a price for your Hoyland gutters

Quotes cost nothing, and neither does me coming out to give one. The quickest start is to WhatsApp me a photo of the problem on 07515 154559. A call on that number works just as well, or use the quote form if that suits you better. I will arrange a time to come and look and tell you plainly what it needs.

Close by, I have pages for Wombwell, Wath upon Dearne and Barnsley, and the areas page has the rest of my patch.
